World-Renowned Synchronized Skating Coach Vicki Korn Joins Team Braemar!


Team Braemar and the Braemar City of Lakes Figure Skating Club are proud to announce Vicki L. Korn as the new Director and Head Coach of Synchronized Skating!

Vicki L. Korn comes to Team Braemar with a passionate history for synchronized skating. Among her many storied achievements, Vicki led the United States to its highest placement ever at the World Synchronized Skating Championships, winning the 2007 Silver Medal.

As Miami University’s Head Coach and Director of Synchronized Skating for 25 years, Vicki led her Senior team to three National titles, and competed at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships for nine consecutive seasons.  In addition to the three National Senior titles, Vicki’s groundbreaking Collegiate team won 11 National titles under her direction.  Vicki has also been honored as PSA Coach of the Year three times.

As summarized: “In all, Korn has been a part of 15 national titles at Miami, 14 coming since the time the program achieved varsity sport status, and has overseen 72 first-place finishes over the 14 years at the senior, collegiate and junior levels of the RedHawk synchronized skating program.”

Since leading Miami University to its last National title in 2009, Vicki was Director of Synchronized Skating at Shattuck St. Mary’s in Minnesota, and went on to coach with Team Image in New York in 2011.

Vicki is very much looking forward to meeting returning families and prospective skaters at our clinic on May 15th at Braemar Ice Arena, before conducting tryouts with returning Assistant Coach Jessica Chaffee on May 19th.
