Team Braemar Junior is proud to represent the City of Edina and the Braemar City of Lakes Figure Skating Club, and is pleased to report strong performance in its recent competitions over the past two weeks!

Midwestern Sectionals

First, at the 2015 Midwest & Pacific Coast Synchronized Skating Sectional Championship, held January 28-31, 2015 in Edina, MN at Braemar Arena, Team Braemar won the Junior Short Program event and placed second overall, earning the Silver Medal! It was a thrill for the reigning 2014 Midwestern Sectional Champions to compete in front of a home crowd and support the event through many volunteer hours on the part of our synchronized skating family!

Junior World Qualifer

necclogo2015JPEG300Team Braemar just returned from the New England Challenge Cup and World Junior Team Selection Event, held February 6-7, 2015 in Marlborough, MA.

The Junior team posted strong scores among a competitive field of 12 Junior teams from around the United States, taking fourth in the Short Program and finishing in fifth place overall, one point shy of the podium!

 

Celebration of Champions

This weekend, Team Braemar has been invited to perform at the TCFSA Celebration of Champions Skating Exhibition on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 1:30P.

The event will be held at Bloomington Ice Garden, 3600 W 98th Street, Bloomington, MN. The Junior Team will perform their Freeskate program to the Broadway hit, “Cabaret”.

The event is sponsored by the Twin City Figure Skating Association. There will be great skating to enjoy from top MN State Champions, Sectional, National and International competitors! Ticket are $8/adult and $5/student.

Nationals

Synchro-Championship-Logos-Final-sm-artboardThe Team will continue training through the end of February, when they will travel to Providence, Rhode Island to compete at the 2015 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. The event will be held at the Dunkin Donuts Center on February 25-28, 2015 and will be telecast live on icenetwork.com. Here is a tentative schedule for Nationals.

 

Tryouts

It’s not too early to think about next season! Tryouts for the 2015-16 season will be held at Braemar Arena in Edina, MN on May 10 and 11, with a synchronized skating skills clinic conducted on May 8, 2015.

Please come check out Team Braemar! All are welcome–from seasoned, high level, competitive figure skaters through individuals who love figure skating and want to check out synchronized skating for the first time! Team Braemar will field teams at various levels depending on the skating skills and ages of those trying out.
