TCFSA Announces New Synchronized Skating Award

At its June 12 meeting, the Twin City Figure Skating Association announced the creation of a new award honoring Marlys Larson, Chair of the 2000 World Synchronized Skating Championships. This award will be presented annually at the TCFSA Officials Dinner. The Marlys Larson Trophy will be awarded to the highest placing Synchronized Skating team of any level, which qualified for Synchro Nationals by placing in the top 4 at Midwesterns. If no teams qualify for Nationals, it will be awarded to the highest Midwestern placement in the following order: Senior, Junior, Novice, Intermediate, Juvenile, Preliminary. (For example, if a Junior team and a Novice team both finish 5th at Midwesterns, the Junior team will be awarded the trophy.) The trophy will be presented at the Annual Officials Dinner to the team captains or 2 people designated by the team. (Team members are encouraged to purchase dinner tickets.) It was discussed at TCFSA and decided that Adult and Collegiate lines would not be eligible for the award.
