Holiday Pops Exhibition
The 5th annual Holiday Pops Exhibition was held on Sunday, December 9th, 2012, and was a rousing success! Historically, the Holiday Pops has been a great way to celebrate the holiday season and a fabulous winter sport that can be enjoyed year-round!
This year, our Club raised over $2,000 and provided several non-perishable food items to many needed families in the West Metro area. In addition to our charitable efforts, the Club raised $222.35 from the proceeds of the bake sale. Click here for a copy of the letter that accompanied our donation to VEAP.
The BCLFSC Board would like to thank each of you for your individual and collective efforts to make our Holiday POPs exhibition for VEAP a success. Please also join us in recognition of thanks to Sharon Friedli-Welter for her leadership of the exhibition. It takes a lot of time, effort, sacrifice and passion to bring together an event of this type and we could not have done it without her and each of your contributions!
Participants and spectators are asked to bring canned/dry goods and make a $5 contribution to Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP), a local non-profit agency serving low-income families, individuals, elderly and disabled persons in the communities of Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, and South Minneapolis, MN. VEAP provides food pantry, social assistance, and transportation services.
In November, skaters can sign up to participate in this event at the rink, working with their pro/coach to create a fun number. Registration is free, but we do ask that each participating skater provide two-dozen baked goods for the bake sale the day of the event. You can bring your baked goods (bagged in quantities of 6) to the ballet room at the rink on the Saturday before the event or on Sunday, 2 hours prior to the event.
Warm-up practice ice (10 minutes) is available just prior to the start of the event at a cost of $5/skater.
This event has quickly become a Braemar tradition and has become a huge success. We look forward to seeing you there in December 2013!
