Volunteer Requirement.  All home club member families are required to do a minimum of 10 hours volunteer work per Home Club family or 5 hours volunteer work per Junior Club family during the membership year July 1– June 30 or be assessed with a $150 for Home Club or $75 fee for for Junior Club for the year (this fee can be prorated).

Ice exchange policy:  Club Ice can be exchanged 7 days before or 7 days after the missed session (excl Synchro). The exchange must be for a session of SAME or LESSER value. Date of exchanges must be clearly written in the ice book.

Exchanges into sessions by BCLFSC members have priority over buy-ons for non-BCLFSC members.

The contract rate for 30 minute session is $12 per 30 minute session and $20 per 90 minute session.   

Members MUST pay for buy-ons before or at the ice session electronically through entryeeze Merchandise. The cost is $14 per 30 minute session and $24 per 90 minute session.

Member families contracted for 10 or more sessions will receive a $2 discount per session.

Contract and buy-on rates are subject to change based on approval by the BCLFSC Board of Directors.

Summer 2020 Club Ice – Session 3

COVID-19: Sessions will be limited to 12 skaters per session. Skaters should arrive at the rink no earlier than 10 minutes before their scheduled session and they should be dressed for skating. Locker rooms and concessions are not open at this time. Skaters are required to wear masks into the Braemar Ice Arena facility and they may take them off on the ice. Coaches and skaters are encouraged to adhere to social distancing guidelines. We encourage parents to sign up to Ice Monitor in order to help our club sanitize the touch point areas utilized by our skaters and coaches. Sign Up Genius for Ice Monitoring.

BCLFSC Winter II Session January 2, 2020-March 7, 2020

Ice Changes: There is no ice on the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. sessions Thursday January 9, 2020 and Thursday February 6, 2020. No Club ice Saturday February 8, 2020 .

BCLFSC Winter I Session Monday October 21, 2019- December 28, 2019

Deadline: The deadline for registration is October 19th at 6 pm after which a $25 late fee will automatically be assessed. Any contracts allowed after the late period will be at the Ice Coordinators discretion and will incur the $25 late fee AND $15 administrative fee.

Ice Changes: Please note the addition of High Test Moves and Open Moves sessions on Wednesdays beginning in the Fall 2019 session. No moves will be allowed on the Wednesday 4 p.m. High Free Club Ice Session. Morning times have moved earlier from 7:15-8:45 a.m. No Ice Thursday, Friday or Saturday (Thanksgiving) November 28, November 29 and November 30. No Ice Tuesday or Wednesday December 24th and December 25th (Christmas). No Ice Friday or Saturday December 27 or December 28.

Class Descriptions

HIGH WORKOUT – This class meets Monday and Wednesdays at 11:00 am. This class is for the serious athlete who would like to be in top physical shape. It is for higher test level skaters. This is for Juvenile Free Skate levels and Intermediate Moves in the Field levels and above. Consult with your coach to see if this is for your skater. This class follows a program developed by the United States Figure Skating Program. The program builds in intensity over the course of the summer. Monday’s workout is aerobic and the skaters continue to move on the ice for 30 minutes with stroking, footwork and edge patterns. Wednesday’s workout is anaerobic and the skaters run intervals where they skate and jump at a high intensity and then rest for a short period of time. Contract is $40 for both classes, 11 Mondays and 10 Wednesdays is $420. Buy-ons are $25 each class.

MEDIUM WORKOUT – This class is an aerobic conditioning class that meets one day a week for 30 minutes. Skaters will build stamina to endure 30 minutes of non-stop skating using skills and exercises to build endurance. Contract is $15 or $20 to buy on. This is for skaters that are at the Pre-Preliminary Free Skate level and above.

LOW ON-ICE WORKOUT – This class meets on Friday’s at 11:30 am. This class is for those skaters that want to improve their basic skating skills. The skater will keep moving for most of the 30 minute with just short breaks to explain new exercises. The skaters need be able to do back crossover (Basic 5) and forward three turns. This class will incorporate edge exercises, as well as moves in the field up to the Juvenile level. Contract is $15 or $20 buy on.

EDGE-ucation CLASS HIGH – Sharpen your skating skills with Olympian Caryn Kadavy on Thursdays at 11:00 am. Gain a competitive edge through high energy sessions, focusing on proper use of the blade and improving flow over the ice. Prerequisite: Skating Levels Intermediate Moves through Senior Moves. Contract is $15 or $20 buy on.

EDGE CLASS MEDIUM – Sharpen your skating skills with Kathleen Gazich on Fridays at 11:00 am. Skating Levels Preliminary Moves through Juvenile Moves. Contract is $15 or $20 buy on.

JUMP EXERCISES CLASS – This class meets Tuesday’s at 11:30 am and is led by BCLFSC Coaches. The focus of this on-ice class will be to achieve consistent jump technique by training Jump Repetition Exercises which will assist with strength, quickness, take-offs, air positions & landings. $15, $20 buy on.

SPIN CLASS – This class is for all levels and will be taught by two of our staff professionals. This is your chance to have time in working on your spins so that you can increase spinning speed and work on new positions. $15 or $20 buy on.

BEGINNING SYNCHRONIZED SKATING CLASS – Offered this summer Thursdays from 5-5:50 pm. Info on our Club Board or at our website www.braemarfsc.org. This class meets on Wednesdays for 50 minutes. This class is for skaters that are interested in experiencing a team environment while learning synchronized skating skills that can lead into team participation moving forward into the 2019/2020 skating season. All interested are welcome. No previous synchro experience is necessary. This class has a separate registration form.

BCLFSC Spring 2019 Session
Monday March 11, 2019- Friday June 7, 2019

Ice Changes: There is no ice on Thursday November 22nd, Friday November 23rd or Saturday November 24th due to the Thanksgiving Holidays. There is no ice on Monday December 24th, Tuesday December 25th for the Christmas Holidays or December 27th through January 1st, 2019.

The cost of ice is increasing. We are still honoring the ice exchange policy and reduced buy on fees for families that contract for 5 or more sessions. A skater must contract for 5 or more sessions to receive the $2 discount, separate from the On Ice Low Workout, this is subject to change.

Buy On Rate: Members: $15/50 minute session, $14/45 minute session (for those contracting 2-4 sessions/
week), $2/session discount (for those skater families contracting 5+ sessions/week), $17/buy on session
(for those contracting 24 sessions/week), $13/session buy on if contracting 5+ sessions a week.
Guests: $20/session

Deadline: The deadline for paper registration is October 21, 2017 at noon after which a $50 late fee will automatically be assessed.
Buy On Rate: Members: $14/session (for those contracting 2-4 sessions/week), $12/session (for those skater families contracting 5+ sessions/week)
Guests: $16/session
Please Note :
MON, WED & THU sessions are all 50 min sessions
TUES & FRI sessions are 45 min sessions
Please Note No Ice Day : November 23-26, December 25, December 28-31

Details:

  • Contract and buy-on rates are subject to change based on approval by the BCLFSC Board of Directors.
  • In addition to our regular open and leveled sessions the On Ice Low Workout is now on Saturday mornings at 8:50 AM.
  • The cost of ice is increasing. We are still honoring the ice exchange policy and reduced buy on fees for families that contract for 5 or more sessions. A skater must contract for 5 or more sessions to receive the $2 discount, separate from the On Ice Low Workout, this is subject to change.

Important Reminders:

  1. Each Home skating member of our club is required to purchase two ice sessions per week. Each Junior Club skating member of our club is required to purchase one ice session per week.
  2. Ice Monitor requirement per family of 3 times per contract period in Fall (September through November), Winter (December through February), Spring (March through May) and Summer (June through August) — also for Associate and Junior Club members — or be assessed with $90 for each season (not prorated).   3. Volunteer Requirement. All Home Club member families, who contract for ice are required to fulfill: minimum Standard Volunteer requirement per family of 6 hours or be assessed with a $90 fee for the year (this fee can be prorated).
  4. We will continue to have the ice exchange policy: Ice can be exchanged 7 days before or 7 days after the missed ice session (excluding Synchro).
  5. Exchanges into sessions by BCLFSC members have priority over buy-ons for non-BCLFSC members.
  6. The contract rate for 50 minute session is $15 per 50 minute session/$14 per 45 minute session
  7. Members will be billed for buy-ons and the cost is $17 per session for those contracting 2-4 sessions per week.
  8. Member families contracted for 5 or more sessions will be able to buy on at the rate of $13.
  9. Contract and buy-on rates are subject to change based on approval by the BCLFSC Board of Directors.
